Professional Week

Participation in Professional Week is mandatory for all Year One Teacher Candidates.  Attendance will be taken.

Professional Week is designed to provide valued resources and opportunities to share effective teaching practices.  Participants choose between several workshops and presentations that will enhance K-12  teaching and learning environments.

All Professional Week events run from Monday, November 13th through Wednesday, November 15th.  There are no activities or classes on Thursday, November 16th or Friday, November 17th of Professional Week.

This three day event is dedicated to year one consecutive education students, with the exception of:

  • The Groove Experience
    Tuesday November 14, 2017
    9:30 am – 12:00 pm – Gym A Surtees Athletic Centre
    This session is open to all teacher candidates.
    Registration in A230 is open until November 3, 2017.
    $10/student.  Cash only.  Capacity has almost been reached
  • Federation Day
    Wednesday November 15, 2017
    9:00 am – 3:30 pm
    This portion of Pro Week includes Year Five Concurrent Education

For your convenience and planning, hard copies will be made available in the Professional Learning Centre – A230 by: Monday November 6, 2017

Students should bring their laptops in order to fully participate in the variety of sessions being offered.

Professional Week offerings are recognized by the Record of Student Development.
