Bachelor of Education students are invited to a variety of professional learning opportunities.  It is imperative that students check the schedule regularly for up-to-date information and details.  Scroll below for sessions being offered.

Some of the sessions offered will count toward your Record of Student Development.
You must be in attendance and participate actively to credit these sessions toward your RSD transcript.

  • Tuesday November 21: Opening Conversations, Changing Mindsets, Building Relationships: Engaging Families, Schools, and Communities

    • Join Dr. Michelann Parr, Elizabeth Thorn Chair in Literacy, Schulich School of Education and Dr. Darlene Cieuffetelli-Parker, Brock University as they interactively explore a) What we Hope For: Understanding family-school-community engagement (i.e., where we are today and what we envision for families); and b) What Matters in Tough Times:  Deconstructing the complexities and unconscious assumptions of poverty, mental health, and school success. Please note that this is a special session specifically for teacher candidates; it is a preview of November 22 which is a Nipissing District-wide day for Family-School-Community Action co-hosted by Nipissing University, The Learning Partnership, the Near North District School Board, and the Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board.
